About GHCHA |
Greater Hill
Country Healthcare Alliance (GHCHA) is a comprehensive
network of two (2) acute care hospitals with ancillary
facilities, over 200 physicians and other health
professionals through the two Member Organizations and GHCHA.
GHCHA Member Organizations (or GHCHA Affiliates) are Hill
Country Regional Health Network physicians and Hill Country
Memorial in Fredericksburg AND Peterson Regional Health Care
Network physicians and Peterson Regional Medical Center in
Kerrville. The GHCHA Affiliates formed this regional
alliance in 1997 as a proactive response to the rapidly
changing health insurance market and federal/state
legislation.
The joint effort helps local residents in the GHCHA Service
Area retain the ability to choose their local doctors and
hospitals for their health care needs, despite restrictions
often imposed by insurance plans. By uniting the medical
communities of Fredericksburg and Kerrville, our alliance
can now work together as a team, pooling resources, to
better survive the ever-changing legislative and managed
care issues. As representatives of the Texas medical
community, serving fourteen (14) counties in the Texas hill
country, GHCHA health care providers have taken the
initiative to maintain and enhance a regional delivery of
health care ... from a true community approach.
